Getting to know our team: Fashionable Frost

Vintage Child model turned intern, 19-year-old Eliesse Frost, tells us about her stylish life and the degree that’s paving the way to her fashion career.

  1. What do you study at university?

BA (Hons) Fashion Buying & Merchandising at Southampton Solent. There are two sides to the course; the first is the creative, building trend boards, considering ranges and capsule collections, but that is far outweighed by the business commercial aspects such as; considering size ratios, allocating stock, managing suppliers and omnichanneling. At the moment I am currently working on a live project that looks into the retail environment, how it has changed and how businesses need to adapt to remain customer centric and profitable

  1. Tell us about your most awkward modelling job...

I had really long hair and was asked to be a hair model for someone. They filled my hair full of product so they could scrape it back and then sprayed every inch of it gold. My hair was so stiff even when I moved my head; my hair just went with it. It was like wearing a wig. It took about 10 washes to get it out of my hair, along with the help of two bottles of shampoo.

  1. Do you have any hobbies?

The normal; reading magazines, shopping till my card actually cries at me, going for drinks and out with friends and scrolling Instagram for hours before getting out of bed. I’m obsessed with cooking; in particular I’m on the ‘healthy’ eating wave. I enjoy juicing and sweet potatoes!! I also run regularly, but that’s hardly interesting.

  1. What are your ambitions?

Career wise, I would love to become a branded fashion buyer working in womenswear or menswear. I’m not sure, but I’m more interested in footwear and bags than clothing. I need to travel more. I’m obsessed with Italy; I’d love to travel around there. It’s so beautiful. I also want to jump out a plane and recreate the Ben Howard ‘keep your head up’ music video slide.

Your style

  1. How would you describe your personal style?

It changes every day; it’s a complete reflection of my mood rather than one style or replicating someone else’s. I adore Swedish minimalistic style if I had to choose, most of my pieces are classic in cut. In other words I live in Zara. But then I’m a massive vintage sportswear junkie and I have a trainer collection that scares me.

  1. What are you wearing today?

Today I have on Zara sports panelled leggings, Primark grey marl top, Zara oversized checked shirt, eBay round sunglasses, Alexander Mcqueen skull scarf and Converse.

  1. What is your favourite Vintage Child bag and how would you style it?

The limited edition fringed suede bag and with what I’m wearing today. I also make it into a clutch with strappy heels and jeans for drinks.

  1. What was your worst fashion disaster?

Besides Ugg boots, I was interning at a fashion events company and I bought a coral spring summer dress thinking I was looking so on point and high fashion . I looked nothing short of a mess and I’m cringing reliving it now.
